“I have been in a position to work with a number of utilization review/ case management firms. It has been my experience that Medical Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc., is one of the highest ranked companies in regard to their business ethics and professionalism. Medical Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc. is aware of the needs of the clients and of the accounts. Through their intervention, communication with all parties involved and knowledge of the medical field and case management, they are able to achieve cost containment while facilitating positive outcomes.

Medical Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc. is exceptional when it comes to communication. When you call, a friendly person will greet you without going through the phone tree, and you will be directed to the appropriate person to take care of your needs. “I have been consulting for self-funded group health plans in Alaska since 1985 and have handled groups ranging in size from 60 to 1,500 covered employees. Of all the utilization review I case management firms I have dealt with, MRC is head and shoulders above the competition. Timely and accurate communication of potentially large claims as well as detailed follow-up on diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis is one of the most important functions a U/R firm provides. With MRC, the consultant, stop loss carrier and administrator are usually aware of a potential catastrophic claim the day of the admission or in the case of a premature birth, the day of that birth. MRC is also excellent at large claims management, saving client dollars with innovative intervention and detailed analysis for the stop loss renewal disclosure.”

“As a benefit consultant, I have had the privilege of working with Medical Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc. since 2001. During this time I have found them to be extremely professional and responsive in their business practices. Medical Rehabilitation Consultants is a company that believes in integrity, honesty and trustworthiness, which are constantly shown in their dealings with the accounts, providers and insured members.

The staff is extremely competent and knowledgeable in their field of utilization review, medical case management and other specialties. They consistently show compassion and understanding for the member while being very professional in their tasks. Their positive relationships and open communications with medical care providers is paramount in generating positive outcomes for the members while still managing to provide substantial cost containment for an exceptional return on investment for the benefit plan.”

“I realize how busy your company must be, dealing with patients on a daily basis; but I had to take time out of my very busy day to express my gratitude to your company for having such great employees like Dora and Laura.

Too often we only hear about the negative things our staff does, but this is a different kind of letter. I personally know how very important it is to give great service and I like to let someone know when your staff is meeting their service targets (in my opinion).

I have been going through lots of medical issues lately. Dora and Laura are the two people I’ve had the privilege of working with and they have been a real delight. They have been very professional, helpful, kind hearted and sincere with me as I work through this whole medical process.

As things change in our lives, all too often when it comes to our medical health, stress has a way of taking us to another level in our thought processes. However my stress has been lower thereby, allowing me to handle things much better since Dora and Laura has helped to explain the process in more detail.

I can not say enough good things about Dora and Laura, and please express to each lady how much I really do appreciate all they have done thus far to help me along this different season in my life. They truly have been my “Medical Angels”. I am a very deeply spiritual person and I firmly believe The Lord places people in your life for a reason and a season; this is why I feel comfortable with the term “Medical Angels” for both ladies.”

“I am writing this letter in reference to Tiffany Kavanaugh, Nurse Consultant. Dr. T and I met Tiffany when she was consulting on a mutual patient. This patient was diagnosed with lung cancer. As you know, this is a devastating diagnosis. Without the help of Tiffany, I know the patient would not have received, and continued to receive, the well-coordinated care he is getting. We have also agreed to accept two other complicated cases only because Tiffany is managing their complicated care. With the help of a Nurse Consultant, it makes it possible to coordinate the care for the patient and to give the kind of care that a patient deserves.

As I am sure you are well aware, the cost of health care is reaching a critical state. The doctor in private practice is quickly becoming extinct. I believe that with help of insurance companies providing the Nurse Consultant, it will not only make it possible to care for the more challenging and time-consuming patients, it will also give the patients the care they need and deserve. Caring for the very ill takes a great deal of time, and frankly, the physician in private practice cannot afford to care for very many nor provide the care and time this type of patient deserves. I hope this service your company provides will continue.

Again, from the cost containment standpoint, I have no doubt Tiffany has saved her year’s salary on just one patient alone. She has prevented more than one hospitalization, a number of emergency room visits, multiple visits to doctors, and poly prescription abuse. I feel she has delivered ongoing excellent care for her clients as well as saving the insurance company thousands of dollars in expenses.””

“Because large claims consistently make up about 40% of our overall claims, the services that you provide are critical to keeping our plan solvent. The return on investment that we've enjoyed has been consistently outstanding.

We especially appreciate the personal care and attention that your staff gives to our group members. When one of our members calls in for a pre-authorization, we know that they are speaking to people who want to help, and genuinely care about them. When we have a large case, we know that your medical case managers become fully immersed in the care of that patient and will steadfastly advocate for the patient, and as we've seen in case after case, realize excellent outcomes. We're also grateful that you readily inform and involve our volunteer Medical Director when big decisions arise. As a mission-based nonprofit, we value the relationships that we have with our members, and we want their experience with our self-funded plan to be a good one. In the same respect, we expect our service partners to represent us well. We're not just buying a commodity.

We're certain that MRC is the best option for our members. We have committed our members into your care, and we have confidence that you have their best interests at heart.”
